Caring is one of the basic traits of character.  It is the true and honest concern for others.  Caring means thinking about other people besides yourself.  Caring means you pay attention to other people’s likes or dislikes, feelings, special qualities, words or actions.

Being kind and caring to all people always is one of the best ways to feel good about yourself and develop a sense of self-worth.

The basic qualities of caring include:

  • Help and comfort to those in need.

  • Be kind and considerate to all.

  • Thank those who do a kindness.

  • Forgive those who are mean or thoughtless.

  • Give to others in time and money – charity – to make their life better.

 

How to help grow a CARING child

  • Model showing care, concern, and understanding for others.

  • Encourage your children to make cards to send to others.

  • Together with your child, help someone in need.

  • Encourage your child to develop friendships.

  • Talk about caring often – make caring a daily habit.
